| Marjan
Moghaddam is an award-winning; New York City based computer
artist and animator. She has exhibited her computer art and
animation internationally at numerous galleries and museums
throughout the years and presented her work at related international
conferences and festivals such as Siggraph and the New York
International Video and New Media festival. She was one of
the first artists to create gif89a animation on the Internet
and is listed as part of the Internet Pioneer Hall.
Ms. Moghaddam has received awards of excellence in digital
and computer art such as ASCII, Resfest, and CG Grand Prixe,
and been featured in numerous print and TV profiles as a computer
artist, most recently she was a featured artist on MOMA’s
WPS1 Art & Technology show. Her artwork is featured in
art catalogs and dozens of highly rated internet sites, and
her work has been selected for the prestigious annual gallery
of Computer Art at the international Siggraph conference numerous
times. In addition to galleries such as Postmasters (NYC)
and Salon D’Autumn in Paris, Ms Moghaddam has also exhibited
her technology art at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Orlando
Museum of Art & the New York Hall of Science Museum.
Most recently Ms. Moghaddam’s groundbreaking, musically
driven animations were selected for 10 different international
film & video festivals, including Finalist prize for Resfest
Korea, included in the Art Disk DVD for Art Basel Miami, and
most recently in a special project of the Armory Show in NY.
She is currently the recipient of a 2008 Brooklyn Arts Council/Department
of Cultural Affairs grant for a live computer animation project.
Ms. Moghaddam’s digital art is held in the collections
of Prdoigy Inc., Jupiter communications, American Museum of
Jazz and Northeastern University Visual Music Archives.
